It’s a road race and a 5K at that, but I’m going. Steve Day is a trail runner who has run many of the Bradbury Dirt series. He works with Rick at New Page. He was training for his first trail marathon, a bit surprised how much the long runs were affecting him. Turn out he has lymphoma. Here’s the blurb from the FB page about Steve and the event:
“Our good friend Steve Day was diagnosed with Leukemia at the end of April and immediately began aggressive treatment at Mass General Hospital. Steve is a generous and caring person member of our community. To support Steve and his family we are planning a Day for the Days. In the Morning there will be a 5k in town as well as a kids fun run.
An evening Auction with music by Jamie Virgin and Gary Petrie will be held at Black Mountain of Maine. Look for more information to follow or contact Charley or Jennifer LeDuc.”
The good thing is that he is officially in remission. Unfortunately, he needs to undergo a regimen of chemo for over two years. Please help a fellow trail runner and really great guy. If you can’t make the run, you can be a virtual runner and register anyway. There’s a PDF entry on Facebook:
